CSA Terms and Agreement
  1. Piedmont Biofarm will provide a share of our harvested produce each week the CSA season. The assortment and quantity of produce will vary throughout the season with weekly share content being determined by availability. Due to the uncertain nature of farming, no guarantees can be made as to weekly quantity and assortment of particular items, but every effort will be made to offer a wide selection, appropriate portions, and a generous volume of produce. Becoming a member of Piedmont Biofarm’s CSA means you share in both the risk and the abundance of the farm.
  2. The 2012 CSA season will be split into three 16-week sessions.
  3. Payment in full at time of registration is preferred. Members may elect to pay for their share in two installments with a $5.00 fee charged for each installment. The first installment is due before the first pick up of the session. A reminder will be sent prior to the eighth week of the session to pay the remaining balance owed.
  4. Piedmont Biofarm is not currently certified organic, however, all crops are grown using sustainable methods that pay primary concern to soil health and fertility.
  5. Members are responsible for picking up their shares each Tuesday at Piedmont Biofarm between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. If they will be away or unable to pick up their share, subscribers are encouraged to find friends or family to pick up their share and notify Piedmont Biofarm of any alternate arrangements that have been made. If a member must miss a Tuesday pick-up, we will hold a share for you for one day IF we are notified by 8am the morning of the day you must miss. If you miss a pick-up without giving advanced notice or if you are unable to pick up your missed share within 24 hours, your share will be donated to a local church for their weekly community lunch or divided among CSA members.
  6. Members are encouraged to participate in our work-trade program. Members are eligible to earn a free week's share in exchange for four hours of help on the farm. Children are welcome, provided they are supervised and not left unattended. Contact us to make arrangements for your work exchange.
  7. In order to maintain our high standards and improve our CSA program, Piedmont Biofarm eagerly invites and encourages comments and feedback about the quality, quantity, selection of varieties or any other aspect of our product or program.
